Flexibility is one of the five main forms of motor stress that represent the basic characteristics of physical performance. It must be maintained and nurtured through athletic stretching training. In addition to improving general flexibility, stretching also serves as a preventative measure against chronically progressive mobility restrictions and as training to prepare the body for major mobility demands.
